Las Posadas celebration with special menu at La Lupita

Las Posadas is celebrated chiefly by Latin America, El Salvador, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and Spain to commemorate the journey of Mary and Joseph before Jesus was born. La Lupita is serving up special dishes for that special time of the year, with highlights including sopes with four different toppings, Tacos de Arrachera, Tacos de Carne Asada, and more. Diners will also be treated to horchata as a welcome drink.

Riccardo Lugano of Manhattan Bar and Simone Rossi of Ratafia Rossi guest shift at Zuma Bangkok

Zuma Bangkok is back with international talents to stand behind their bar, and this time, they’re making it double. Assistant Bar Manager Riccardo Lugano of Manhattan Bar, Conrad Singapore Orchard will be stirring up a storm while Simone Rossi will be serving his best creations using aperitif cherry wine. Together with Zuma Bangkok’s Santo Medo, the bar sees a handful of fun new cocktails for just one night only.

Takafumi Makita and Simon of Lab Taipei guest shift at Rim Bangkok
19 December, 9pm onwards
Taipei bar Lab is quite a unique place to be, with the team using modern technology to blend with classic cocktails and unconventional ingredients. The result: a new, minimalist take on what we know, pushing the boundaries in their own way; complex and deep in flavour, but never too complicated. Try those creations as their owner Takafumi Makita and bartender Simon take over Rim Bangkok for one evening.

‘Monologue of the Stargazing Whale’ art display with sustainable cocktails at Gir
20-31 December, 6pm-midnight
In collaboration with Thai artist Pavee, ‘Monologue of the Stargazing Whale’ presents a whale beneath the night sky. The mini-exhibition seeks to provoke discourse on ocean pollution and unconscious littering, letting viewers in on the stark contrast between the beautiful star-lit sky and the polluted ocean. To pair with the experience, there’s a limited-time cocktail lineup made using closed-loop system with sustainability on top of mind.

Ornaree Chularat live performance at Siwilai Sound Club
20 December, 8pm onwards
Thailand’s Queen of Grunge Ornaree Chularat was a prominent figure of the music industry during the 90s, and her vocal style is something that just cannot be replicated. She’ll be showing off her chops at Siwilai Sound Club for one night only. If you’re already a fan, you’ll see she hasn’t lost any of her talent over the years. If you’re not yet a fan, you’ll get to hear some good grunge music. Tickets are available online, but tables are first-come, first-serve.

‘AFRODISE’ with Aaron Sevilla, Juany Bravo, and Tatiana, at APT 101
20 December, 9pm onwards
APT 101 is throwing a penthouse party with the hard-hitting sounds of afro house. Behind the booth will be the legendary Aaron Sevilla, as well as Juany Bravo for a little Latin twist, and Tatiana. Be sure to bring company and snag tickets early, for this party is sure to be a big one. They’re also having a flash sale: THB 600 per ticket for the first 50 tickets only.

Christmas market at Rangoon Tea House
21-22 December, 9am-6pm
As you start to feel the chill breeze and the festive season arrives, it’s a sign you should browse the wares and surround yourself with holiday spirit at a Christmas market. At Rangoon Tea House, they’re clashing cultures to give you an experience with a twist. Sip on chai mulled wine, dig into Burmese crepes and sausages, decorate gingerbread men, and more. They also have a Christmas free-flow deal than runs after the market is done for the day.

‘Cena E Concerto: An Italian Symphony’ gala dinner with eight chefs at Royal Orchid Sheraton
21 December, 6pm onwards
Royal Orchid Sheraton is organising a special black-tie gala dinner with eight esteemed Italian talents from all around Thailand, complimented by live jazz performances. The star-studded lineup includes Chef Matteo Fontana from The St. Regis Bangkok, Chef Giacomo Vinci from Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, Chef Frederik Farina from Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit, Chef Marco Cammarata from Royal Orchid Sheraton, Chef Gianni Favro from Gianni Ristorante in Athenee Tower, Chef Roberto Parentela from Grand Hyatt Erawan, Chef Andreas Bonifacio from Trattoria da Andreas Hua Hin, and Chef Mirko Cappa from Angsana Laguna Phuket. A portion from the proceeds go to Scholars of Sustenance Thailand (SOS), an organisation that focuses on equitable access to nutritious food for communities in need.

‘HUNGER HOUR’ by YAMADA art exhibition at Trendy Gallery

In YAMADA’s third solo exhibition, he digs deep into our relationship with media — our constant cravings of media consumption and how it affects our daily lives. Pulling inspiration from digital media, radio, TV, print, and more, the artworks seek to open up conversations on if we’re unable to appreciate little happy moments in our lives when we’re too tied to those many mediums of media.

Dine at the newly-renovated MoMo Café at Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok

Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok has undergone a full renovation earlier this year, and that also includes their dining venues. MoMo Café is revamped, refurbished, and relaunched, serving up new Thai dishes from day to night in addition to their international menu. Highlights include the Phla Salmon, salmon steak served with sauce of lemongrass and Thai chili, Gaeng Phed Ped Yaeng, featuring slow-roasted duck in red curry sauce, and their Chicken Khao Soi that tastes as authentic as they come.
