Songkran 2024 events around Bangkok to celebrate and get wet

Songkran is celebrated throughout the kingdom, but there are hot spots where you can expect all the action to go down. Here are some Songkran 2024 events to check out this year in Bangkok.

Every year, Songkran is celebrated on 13-15 April to mark the beginning of the Thai New Year. Traditionally, water is used to symbolise purification; washing away our bad luck and sins, along with paying respects to our ancestors.

Now, it’s recognised by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage, celebrated by both local and international folks, and huge parties, and parades are held every year. Here are some Songkran events to look forward to in Bangkok this summer.
