March 2024 TikTok trends you need to know
The “Tempting, But No… Thank You” trend

If you’ve watched Notting Hill before, then you’ll know that this is such an iconic line. In the movie, actress Julia Roberts plays Anna Scott, and in one of the scenes, she politely rejects a guy who offers his phone number by saying “Tempting, but no… thank you.” Although the trend originally popped up in February, other TikTokers have been creating their own version of when they would drop this legendary line.
The “You’re 19” trend

Those who have watched Judge Judy will know that this no-nonsense lady on primetime television is always blunt. This month, an audio from Season 2 episode 38, ‘Tough Love Dad,’ which aired last year, has been going viral on TikTok. During this scene, a daughter sues her father for property after he kicks her out. However, as Judge Judy sees the girl’s age, she asks, “You’re 19?” in which the adolescent replies “yes.” After hearing the responses, the judge responds “You look older. That’s not a compliment.”

TikTok users have been using this audio by posing a question, and responding “yes.” However, like the original sound, the response gets misinterpreted, and then it its commented that the statement was not a compliment.
The “All that work and what did it get me?” trend

Another viral sound from a popular TV series is “All that work and what did it get me?” Although the song “Rose’s Turn” is from the musical Gypsy, the American show, Glee, has covered it in an episode called “Laryngitis.”During this scene, Kurt Hummel, played by Chris Colfer, covers this song to express feelings of regret. Years later, he has come to find that the sound is now a trending meme all over TikTok, especially when the platform has issues with UMG copyrighted materials.
The resulting trend is quite simple. Creators can write about something they did that wasn’t worth their while, then lip sync to Glee’s version of “Rose’s Turn” while staring into the distance with a serious look of disappointment.
The “How many girls are you talking to tonight” trend

When you’re in your prime and are single, there’s no harm in chatting up some random strangers. This March, there’s been a new TikTok trend on the rise. In these videos, someone behind the camera asks their friends “How many girls/guys are you talking to tonight?” Then the person in front of the camera responds their number. The next scene is a clip of the reality of the night, whether they accomplished their quest or ended up alone.

After Yris Palmer posted a video of her and Kylie in Khy and dancing to a remix of Don Omar’s “Dile,” numerous TikTokers have recreated Kylie’s little dance to the same sound.
The “We can’t be friends” trend

After Ariana Grande released her song “we can’t be friends (wait for your love),” this track has been popping around all over social media, especially on TikTok. As various users use this sound to recreate Grande’s music video eye look, others choose to go down a different route by doing a photo slide, seemingly deleting their ex. In the trend, you can see users sharing a photo of them with their ex, but when the chorus comes on, their partner gets deleted out of the image.
The “Lady Killers” trend

Despite this song being released years ago, the audio has resurfaced on TikTok, becoming one of this month’s viral trends. Here you can see users lip-syncing to the lyrics, “Make her disappear just like poof. Then she’s gone. Addicted don’t know what the f*** I’m on. I can’t stop it when I feel it coming on. When we chill it starts with smoking something strong…” What makes this video aesthetically pleasing is that they’re filming just before the sun sets at the beach. Moreover, it’s the turning on and off of the flash to the beat that makes this trend most alluring.
