November birthstone: 5 ways to wear topaz this month

Calling all November babies: it’s officially topaz season.

November calls for an early festive celebration, and there’s nothing more perfect than celebrating the season by wearing your birthstone in style. For those born in November, you’ve got two stunning birthstones to choose from: topaz and citrine. By no means, the soothing and calming nature of topaz and it’s rich history makes it an excellent choice for November babies.

According to the American Gem Society, the name topaz derives from ‘Topazios’ from the ancient Greek name for St.John’s Island in the Red Sea. It is associated with preventing magic spells and dispelling anger. Whilst topaz is always thought to be yellow given its history, it comes with many more desirable colourful tones you can imagine. This fiery and brilliant gemstone is available in hues from brownish orange to an exclusive yellow, with blue being the most abundant one in the market. Some even feature a vibrant orange hue with a light pink undertone. This is known as ‘Imperial Topaz.’

The gemstone is found in Brazil, India, Sri Lanka, Australia, Germany, and many more places. From the classic sophisticated pieces to the quirky ones, here is a list of ways you could style this elegant beauty this November.
