While it might seem that the 11 suitcases are similar, it is not so. To make the collection even more exclusive, each suitcase comes with a unique coin bearing the three-letter airport code of the city where it is displayed.

This means that the suitcase displayed at the Omega boutique on Fifth Avenue in New York City will have a coin bearing the initials ‘JFK,’ which stand for the John F. Kennedy International Airport. All the watches of the suitcase will also be engraved with ‘JFK’ on the side. Similarly, the one displayed at Hong Kong will bear the initials ‘HKG.’

When and where is the auction taking place?

The auction will begin on 12 February at 3 pm CET in Geneva. It will conclude on 24 February.

The auction is special. Sotheby’s said that all proceeds will be given to Omega’s long-term partner, Orbis International, which fights avoidable blindness and vision loss around the world.
