Spotify Wrapped 2024: How to find and share your music recap

It’s the most musical time of the year again. Read on for our guide to Spotify Wrapped 2024, including how to find your Spotify Wrapped, and how to flaunt and share it.

What had initially started as a marketing campaign in 2015 meant to promote its services on social media has transformed into a yearly social event that Spotify users all look forward to: Spotify Wrapped. And 2024 is no different, with the streaming giant officially debuting the round-up of your listening habits from the past 12 months in the form of an interactive slideshow.

Christmas decorations are up, Mariah is on the stereo, and Spotify is probably on the cusp of reminding you that your Spotify Wrapped 2024 findings are about to be delivered, so you can gloat about how unique your listening habits are compared to mainstream Billboard 100 plebs. Such are the modern traditions that many digital natives come to anticipate in the first week of December, with Spotify’s Year in Music campaign having received such immense popularity that it has now become an outright virtual event in itself.

A guide to how to get your Spotify Wrapped 2024 in a few taps

The numbers don’t lie. Out of around 630 million Spotify users, 225 million had engaged with the 2023 iteration of the company’s annual wrap-up campaign, proving that highly personalised marketing initiatives such as this continue to remain one of the best mediums to engage with audiences. Of course, that isn’t to say that Spotify Wrapped would have witnessed nearly the same levels of virality had its format not evolved over time.

While initially being hosted on a dedicated, interactive microsite interspersed with animations, Spotify Wrapped later shifted to a more social-friendly approach by implementing an Instagram Stories-driven layout introduced in 2019. Retaining the same signature flat animation styles from before, users would be taken on a slide-by-slide showcase of their listening habits, instead of the previous downwards scrolling format. What’s more, enhanced social media integration meant that these statistics could be easily shared to other platforms of your choice, the most popular being Instagram.

This year is no different and you can now officially access your Spotify Wrapped for 2024 by simply heading over to the main page of your Spotify app, or by accessing the landing page through Google by typing in ‘Spotify Wrapped 2024‘ and selecting the first result that appears.

As you are redirected to the dedicated Spotify Wrapped 2024 page, off-site servers will take a moment to compute your listening data from across the year before revealing your journey through music from several different metrics.

The first most obvious unit of measurement boils down to how much time you’ve spent on Spotify throughout the year. For some of us (ie; myself), this number ranges in the five figures, totally tens of thousands of minutes. You’ll even get to see how you rank comparatively with other Spotify users around the world. Not that it’s worth the bragging rights or anything.

This segues into five of your top songs, which can be predictable by all accounts if you’re a creature of habit like myself. But a new addition to this year’s Spotify Wrapped is how the platform now charts your ‘music evolution journey’, delineating certain months with a genre of music that you happen to enjoy in excess. October was my McBling Strut Pop-era, which I suppose refers to modern female pop music in regular parlance.

Last but not least, you’ll get to learn who your favourite artist of the year is, mine being the British jazz and quiet storm band, Sade. Top 0.5% on the leaderboard, baby.
