NASA is taking applications to the moon
Fancy yourself an astronaut? NASA is recruiting for its brand new batch of astronauts who will get to go on missions to the Moon and possibly Mars. And yes, it’s really as simple as applying for any other job—but like any other job, it also has requirements. So if you’ve got a Master’s degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) field, at least three years of related professional experience, are in tip-top shape, and are a US citizen, then apply here.
There’s a Marilyn Monroe AI coming soon by Soul Machines
It’s baffling how over sixty years after her passing, Marilyn Monroe still can’t be treated with respect. AI technology company Soul Machines announced that this Digital Marilyn has “advanced machine learning [enabling] her to engage in natural, fluid dialogue” and that this project showcases “the potential of technology to honour and reimagine iconic figures in a way that feels interactive and engaging.” With Monroe having been outspoken about her treatment in the industry, this feels just like another cash grab using her likeness and her legacy.
Ghost of Tsushima is coming to PC this year
Good news, PC gamers: Sucker Punch announced that their critically-acclaimed title, Ghost of Tsushima, is finally coming to PC on May 16 after being released almost four years ago on the PS4. We’re waiting with anticipation as to what mods the whole gaming community will come up with to spice up the game or make it ridiculous.
Avatar: The Last Airbender renewed for Season 2 and 3 on Netflix
Netflix is on a roll with its live-action adaptations. After the success of One Piece, their take on Avatar was met with praise with the whole fandom breathing a sigh of relief that they finally have an adaptation they can be proud of. The streaming giant wasted no time and announced that not only will Aang and friends be back for a second season but that they’ll also return for a third and final season.
