The specs for the PS5 Pro have allegedly been leaked
Gaming news site Insider Gaming has claimed that a PS5 Pro is definitely on the way and will be out at the end of the year. The leak, first shared by YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead, is reportedly real according to Insider Gaming. The brand new PS5 will have a new performance mode capable of 8K resolution and will be able to render 45% faster than the base PS5. Though slated for release at the end of 2024, Insider Gaming claims that this could be pushed back due to a lack of fist-party releases this year.
We have our first poster for the new Star Wars series The Acolyte
The brand new Star Wars series, The Acolyte, finally has a poster with a trailer soon to follow. The series stars Amanda Steinberg, Lee Jung-jae, and Manny Jacinto, and takes place 100 years before The Phantom Menace during the High Republic era. Though initially just a murder investigation, the Jedi will eventually discover something more sinister is afoot. The Acolyte premieres on June 4.
Palworld developer Pocketpair says the game has earned so much it can’t handle it
The creators of the “Pokémon with guns” game Palworld have a problem that all of us wish we had: they’ve got too much money. In an interview with Bloomberg, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe said that Palworld’s development budget was less than JPY 1 billion (approximately USD 6.7 million). But the profit the game has made has amounted to tens of billions which Mizobe says is “too big for a studio with our size to handle”. Their studio is comprised of only 55 people.
However, weeks ago, The Pokémon Company said that it would investigate and take necessary legal action if it found that the game had committed copyright infringement.
Teen Titans is getting a live-action movie
Not only is Robin finally appearing in a live-action movie since 1997’s Batman & Robin but it seems his group of teenage heroes will also be making a live-action appearance in James Gunn’s DCU. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the writer of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Ana Nogueira, is developing the screenplay. This isn’t the first time the Titans crossed over to live-action: in 2018, the Titans TV series depicted a gritty R-rated version of the group that first streamed on the now-defunct DC Universe before moving to HBO Max.
Nicolas Cage may play Spider-Man Noir in a live-action series
Across the Spider-Verse may finally be coming to live-action—well, at least Spider-Man Noir is. But not only is he going to make his live-action debut; there’s also a possibility that he’ll be played by none other than Nicolas Cage. For those who watched the Spider-Verse animated films, you know that Cage voiced Spider-Man Noir, so his playing the character in live-action would just be a treat.
The Among Us series cast has been revealed!
The upcoming animated series based on the popular game has finally unveiled its cast. Randall Park from Wandavision and Fresh Off the Boat, Yvette Nicole Brown from Community, Elijah Wood from Lord of the Rings, and Ashley Johnson from Critical Role are set to voice the primary-coloured characters of the show. No specific premiere date has been given as of yet.
A video game made entirely by AI has failed
It finally happened: someone has tried to make a video game solely using AI—and failed. To be fair, it was an experiment that proved what we knew all along. Keywords Studios attempted to make a 2D video game using only generative AI tools. CEO Bertrand Bodson explained that while AI could speed the process, it ultimately was “unable to replace talent”.
