An itinerary for Bruno Mars in Bangkok, based on his songs

Ahead of the American singer-songwriter’s concert, we have a few suggestions as to what he can get up to while here in the City of Angels. Here’s our itinerary for Bruno Mars when he visits Bangkok.

Hello, Peter—or as you are widely known, Bruno. As a fellow Filipino, I’m no stranger to nicknames that are so far from your real name. I’m just glad your mom didn’t call you “Junjun” because “Junjun Mars” doesn’t have the same ring to it.

I know that you’re going to be back here in Bangkok soon. I was there back in 2018, and I know you’ll rock our socks off like you did before. We’re all looking forward to the show but we also don’t want you to miss what our city has to offer. Believe it or not, it’s not just the bad traffic and pollution. We want to make sure you get a true Bruno Mars Bangkok experience.

So Peter/Bruno, here’s our cheeky little Bangkok itinerary for you. And remember, with great power comes great responsibility. Wait, wrong Peter.

A Bangkok itinerary for Bruno Mars

Get a massage at Harnn Heritage Spa because “That’s What [You’ll] Like”

A trip to Bangkok is never complete without a proper spa treatment and massage. Whether it’s to prep for the two nights of rocking at Rajamangala or a post-show treat, head to Harnn Heritage Spa for some well-deserved relaxation. You can opt for the Ploenchit Therapy for a nice aromatic Thai massage but if you really need someone to knead all the stress out, the Dusit Therapy which comprises a Thai deep tissue message might do the trick.

Go to 984wolf for dinner and spend the night “Talking to the Moon”

With a subtle air of fine dining but still keeping it fun and casual, 984wolf is a great place to wind down and chill over a good meal. Their European dishes are stunningly and expertly crafted; the vibes are laid back; and the aesthetic of the whole restaurant is delightful. But the centrepiece of the restaurant’s decor? The brightly lit moon that hangs on the ceiling hence the pun.

See a movie at the Bed Cinema by Omazz because “Today [you] don’t feel like doing anything”

There are days when you just want to lay in your bed but you also don’t want to be stuck in your room. The Bed Cinema by Omazz offers the solution: watching a movie in a theatre while lounging about in bed. It’s a radically different movie-going experience. I mean sure, you do it at home, but this is a proper cinema with sodas and drinks. Perhaps this can be a nice little post-show treat before heading to the next leg of the tour.

Dine with a “24K Magic” aesthetic in Chop Chop Cook Shop

Bangkok’s Chinatown aka Yaowarat is well known for its gold shops with their neon signage and signature red interior. There’s a multitude of them spread out in the district. Chop Chop Cook Shop isn’t one of them, but it used to be. The refitted gold shop now serves dishes that mix Chinese, Western, and local influences giving you a truly international meal amidst busy Chinatown. It’s the perfect place for a true 24K lunch.

Get yourself  “drippin’ in finesse” at Platinum Mall

Forget the luxury malls for a minute even if you want to look for new Versace “floor pieces”. Platinum Mall is where you can experience true Bangkok shopping, complete with haggling, and knock-off brands. Look, I know at your new cocktail lounge, The Pinky Ring, people are going to be decked out in designer-brand outfits. But hear me out: why not rock up in breezy Bangkok elephant pants and a silk Dolce & Gabbana shirt that only cost THB 199? You’re a trendsetter after all, Bruno, so set it.

Need a few drinks after your two-night gig or maybe you just need a few drinks and funky vibes to end the day? The aptly-named Funky Town serves up tremendous cocktails along with great vibes and a casually cool aesthetic making it the perfect hangout spot perhaps after playing in front of a crowd of approximately 65,000. Sit back and enjoy your drinks and the music—or maybe do a song or two for the lucky ones who are there. We know you can’t resist singing with a drink in your hand.
