Of course the Internet had something to say with TikTok being banned and coming back in just 14 hours. 

It was a long time coming. For a while there, it got close and people really thought that was the end. But on Sunday, TikTok was finally banned in the US—for real. Like, no joke. Those who tried to use it were greeted by a saddening message that the app wasn’t “available right now”. People wept. Children screamed. Lovers cried and the poets dreamed.

And then like Jon Snow coming back to life, TikTok returned, the ban not even lasting a day. There are some who are elated. Some are wary especially since President-elect Donald Trump has been taking credit for saving the app, which TikTok has also thanked him for, despite the fact that he was the one who was calling for its ban back when he was in office. 

Nevertheless, TikTok is back—again, for the foreseeable future. Probably until Trump throws another hissy fit.
