As Dua Lipa had us dancing the night away at her Bangkok concert, she also went up and down the city for an experience of her own. Here are the places we know for sure she visited, from intimate supper clubs to grand temples.
After announcing that her training season is over and releasing Radical Optimism, Dua Lipa is showing the world that her flop era hasn’t arrived yet. She’s that girl that carried us through the pandemic with Future Nostalgia, had us bopping to her track on the Barbie movie, and counting to her new rules way back with her debut album. As Dua Lipa is in Bangkok, we put on our Nancy Drew thinking caps to compile the places she visited. Here’s what we got.

What did Dua Lipa do during her time in Bangkok?
Enjoyed Thai beer and Isaan food at Laab Ubon Kontrakran
When you’re look for good Isaan food, if the restaurant only has plastic chairs and no air con, you already know the somtam’s going to be fire. Laab Ubon Kontrakran is as local as they come with great food and prices more than reasonable. That, paired with some beer (although we normally avoid Chang because we’re not barbarians), and it’s one of the greatest experience you can have in the city.
Tried the Thai cuisine by the talented team of Haawm
Located in On Nut area, Haawm is located in a small, cosy townhouse that opened as a Thai supper club. Founded by the self-taught Thai-American chef Dylan Eitharong, the chef’s table only serves six persons at a time, and Dua Lipa was one of them, as she made her long way down Sukhumvit road for a meal with her gang.

Visited the beautiful Wat Arun
Translated to the “Temple of Dawn,” Wat Arun serves as a beautiful view as you’re cruising along the Chao Phraya river or dining in one of the riverside restaurants. Trust us, it’s even more charming up close. The colourfully-decorated spires from the Ayutthaya period make for the perfect photo opp, or simply an interesting walk.

Basked in the golden glow of the Reclining Buddha in Wat Pho
If you’re a history or cultural buff, Wat Pho is a must-visit in Bangkok. It’s one of the city’s oldest temples that existed even before Bangkok became the capital, and houses the largest collection of Buddha images in the kingdom. Of course, the main attraction is the 46 metre-long Reclining Buddha — one of the largest Buddha statues in Thailand. Fun fact: Wat Pho is known as the birthplace of Thai massage, and classes are still being taught at the temple. Dua, did you know this?

Dove into natural wines at Mod Kaew Wine Bar
Natural wine dive bar Mod Kaew pairs great food with a large collection of natural wines from all over the world. The photogenic neons, relaxing ambiance, and warm hospitality also tie the experience altogether. The name is translated to “bottoms up” from Thai, and we’re sure with the good wines they have, Dua Lipa did not hesitate.
@bank_ans Spotted @Dua Lipa #dualipa in bangkok at @HouseofHealsbkk last night #dualipachallenge #houseofheals #bangkok #dragqueen #fancam #fancams
Watched drag performances at House of Heals (Callum Turner also present)
Of course, the full Bangkok experience calls for watching live shows by our amazing drag performers, as we’re home to some of the best in the world. Dua Lipa was spotted watching Thai drag shows at House of Heals along with Callum Turner. Drag queen Dearis Doll who hosted the show that evening commented that it was such an exciting experience that it made her scared to even move.

Laid back and relaxed by the pool at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok
We recognise that Four Seasons logo anywhere, and we totally understand Dua Lipa. The beautiful pool in the middle of the property, and being able to walk down to stroll along the riverfront — the natural light is simply impeccable here. Hope you had a great say in Bangkok, Dua.
