Parasyte: The Grey is an upcoming Korean horror series, based on the Parasyte manga. Know all about its plot, cast, and release date details.

Netflix’s new Korean horror series, Parasyte: The Grey, is set to offer a unique interpretation of the popular manga, Parasyte, making it potentially one of the most intriguing live-action adaptations in years. Director Yeong Sang-ho, renowned for the popular series Hellbound and the critically lauded movie Train to Busan, is at the helm of Netflix’s upcoming show.

Hitoshi Iwaaki’s Parasyte manga series gained acclaim for its intricate character development and profound philosophical themes with an excellent combination of body horror and quirky humour. Over the past decade, the manga has successfully transitioned into a well-received TV anime series, accompanied by two live-action movies.

For those who are new to this series, it follows Shinichi Izumi, a senior in high school, who becomes the target of a parasitic organism’s unsuccessful attempt to seize control of his brain. However, the parasite ends up infecting and taking control of his arm instead. Interestingly, Netflix’s Parasyte: The Grey is a completely original story, which takes place in South Korea and includes some elements from the original manga.
