The internet has a lot to say about Sony’s new superhero movie. Here are some of the best reactions to Madame Web.
Sony’s latest addition to the Spiderverse (despite Dakota Johnson’s insistence that it’s not) was finally released into the world this past week, and it’s got people talking. That’s not necessarily a good thing. The trailers already weren’t promising with the line “He was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died” now becoming iconic and memable. Some hoped that Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney, who’s been enjoying the success of her romcom Anyone But You, would be enough star power to save the film. Alas, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
We took a look at the Platform Formerly Known as Twitter to see what the interwebs had to say. They didn’t disappoint.

Sony is on a roll—again, not necessarily a good thing.
No way Sony can make a movie worse than Morbius…

Maybe Wiseaunian should be a film genre.
Just got out of #MadameWeb and honestly I havent felt this way in a theater since Cats. 10/10 for this Tommy Wiseau esque approach to Catwoman 2004. Couldn’t stop laughing the whole runtime. pic.twitter.com/nlIGWQp5hC

And finally, while everyone agrees the movie was bad, that doesn’t mean no one enjoyed it.
