Movies starring Aokbab Chutimon you need to add to your watchlist

After her recent Emmy win, now’s a good time to rewatch some of the best films that Aokbab Chutimon has been in.

Despite only having 10 films in her filmography, Aokbab Chutimon is on a roll. She became recognised internationally thanks to the success of Bad Genius and has continued to star in successful films. Hunger, a Thai film that premiered on Netflix, was met with critical and commercial success. Though the film was released last year, Aokbab won Best Actress at the recently concluded International Emmy Awards just a few days ago, making her the first Thai actress to win an Emmy. In celebration of her win, we take a look at some of the best films in the short yet successful film career of Aokbab Chutimon.

Aokbab Chutimon films you need to watch, from Bad Genius to Hunger

Bad Genius (2017)

The concept of making a heist thriller but based on cheating on tests was unheard of before Bad Genius came out. The film was an instant hit not just here in Thailand but globally resulting in an Indian and an American remake, the latter of which was just released this year. It’s also quite surprising that this was actually Aokbab’s feature film debut. Her role as Lynn, the mastermind behind the whole cheating scheme, garnered her many accolades like the Rising Star Award at the New York Film Festival and Best Newcomer at the Asian Film Awards.

She’s annoyed that her family is so attached and sentimental with their belongings but she soon realises she bears the same feelings, except it’s not for things but for her ex-boyfriend who she unceremoniously left behind.

Aokbab gets into the horror genre with this film as she portrays Anne, though she’s only one of the many actresses who does so. Anne finds herself in some sort of hospital with a demon that for some reason wants her dead. However, she also sees other girls who also claim to be Anne. The question now is who’s the real Anne and could she escape the hellscape they’re in.
