The year is looking good for Thai original films. These are five of the most awaited Thai movies releasing in 2025.

Last year was a stellar year for Thai films. Not only were they successful here locally but some titles also gained international recognition. We can’t forget How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it becomes one of the final nominees for an Oscar in the Best International Feature Film category. 2025 already has an exciting lineup of releases so we’ve listed down some that we’re excited about. From Panor to Nakee 3: Most awaited Thai movies releasing in 2025

Panor

January 16

Starring Cherprang Areekul, Rattanawadee Wongthong, and Chalita Suansane
Directed by Putipong Saisikaew

A girl named Panor has been the centre of a dark rumour that’s been going on since she was born. The rumour is that she’s cursed and a bad omen hangs above her due to something that happened when she was born. When horrible things start happening around her, the people in her school and town start believing the rumours are true. 

Death Whisperer 3

October 8

Starring Nadech Kugimiya and Rattanawadee Wongthong
Directed by Taweewat Wantha

Details are scarce about the plot but with Nadech returning, it will most likely chronicle his character Yak’s next step on his journey of vanquishing the evil spirit that took the life of his sister. 

The Red Envelope

Starring Putthipong “Billkin” Assaratanakul, Krit “PP Krit” Amnuaydechkorn
Directed by Chayanop Boonprakob

Based on the 2022 Taiwanese film Marry My Dead Body, this action comedy film follows a homophobic policeman who stumbles upon the eponymous red envelope. What he doesn’t know is that the envelope is actually a marriage proposal from a deceased gay man and he’s unwittingly become the man’s partner. 

Nakee 3: The Cursed Wat

Starring Natapohn Tameeruks and Phupoom Pongpanu
Directed by Pongpat Wachirabunjong

In a story akin to Romeo & Juliet, the Garuda and Naka races are locked in what seems to be an eternal war. In the middle of this war, the Prince of Garuda and the Princess of Naka fall in love. Will their love bring peace or just make matters worse?

The Undertaker 2

The latest entry into the Tai Ban Universe is set to be released sometime this year. However, that’s the only detail we know thus far. The previous entry, The Undertaker, is a supernatural horror comedy of a man reluctantly taking the aforementioned job and another man who wants to once again see his deceased ex.
