Thai actors Arm Sappanyoo Panatkool and Porsch Apiwat Apiwatsayree have been in the limelight ever since they confirmed their relationship in 2014. Porsch, one of the most successful Thai actors, started his career as a flight attendant. He found his footing in the entertainment industry with his role as Dr. Bright in the 2017 Thai drama Together with Me. Other popular Boy Love (BL) shows starring Porsch are Together with Me: The Next Chapter (2018) and Intern in My Heart (2024).
Arm, meanwhile, is a YouTuber and shares the channel @porscharm with Porsch. With undeniable charm and chemistry, Porsch and Arm also garnered massive public appreciation as co-stars in their Thai BL dramas Ai Long Nhai (2022) and Caged Again (2024).
Talking about facing judgement by some for choosing to love each other, Porsch said in an interview with Thai media outlet Sanook, “The word ‘judged’ here means judging that our preferences, when they are different from others’ preferences, are wrong. But when I go home, who will I love? Who will I sleep in bed with? It doesn’t cause anyone any trouble.”

Porsch Apiwat and Arm Sappanyoo were students of Thammasat University in Bangkok and first met during one of their university reunions in 2008. Soon after, Porsch texted Arm through the social media platform Hi5.
In a 2025 interview with Vogue Thailand, Arm mentioned that it was only after the text he received from Porsh that the duo began their small talks and eventually started seeing each other.

In their interview with Vogue Thailand, Porsch lovingly recollected their first date. However, it wasn’t a smooth one at all.
Arm, who was back from holidaying at Koh Samui at that time, was all tanned. Porsch was embarrassed after he realised his car’s air conditioner wasn’t working. The duo, who went to a restaurant at a mall, couldn’t find any parking space. Later, Porsch had to stop driving midway and request Arm to take the wheels.
Talking about all the bizarre things that happened on their first date, Porsch said, “It was ridiculously delightful but not in a good way”. Arm added that even after the inconveniences, they still clicked and that it was a funny date.

After six years of dating, the Thai couple got engaged on 10 January 2014.
Porsch informed their friends and families and planned a surprise proposal for Arm. Recollecting the memorable day in the Vogue Thailand interview Arm said, “I had no clue and I had never even dreamed about it. Because I am an LGBTQ, so for all I knew, there was not going to be a wedding. There’s not going to be someone proposing to me. I couldn’t imagine what it’s like to get married or what it would look like, the wedding. I didn’t even dream of the marriage certificate until January 10th, 2014. (sic)”
When asked why he chose to propose to Arm, Porsch lovingly replied, “If you ask me why I proposed, I’ll ask you why I shouldn’t propose to someone I want to live with and love?”

Being cast in Thai dramas together, that too as a couple, was another milestone of Porsch and Arm’s two-decade-long love story.
The duo first appeared in Ai Long Nhai, a 2022 Thai BL series about two university friends and their campus romance. Porsch portrayed Sippakorn and Arm played the role of Sippakorn’s partner Jaonan in the show.
Their next project was the 2024 Thai BL fantasy drama Caged Again, about a penguin who transforms into a human. Porsch and Arm played the roles of Ton and Nat respectively.

When Porsch and Arm first made their relationship public, they received an unfavourable response from some sections of society. While there was not as much understanding of sexual diversity at that time, the couple decided to face the heat together to show people that love is love.
For years, the two Thai celebrities have used multiple public platforms to enlighten society against the undeniable stereotype that LGBTQIA+ love is “superficial”. Venturing into Thai BL dramas was another way for the couple to show the world that “love is love, no matter who it happens to”.
So, when Thailand celebrated its first-ever Thailand International LGBTQ+ Film & TV Festival (TILFF) in September 2024, Porsch Apiwat and Arm Sappanyoo made sure to attend the event hand in hand.
Porsch and Arm exchange vows
The celebrity couple decided to officially exchange vows after the legalisation of marriage equality and adoption of children by same-sex married couples in Thailand, which was signed into law in 2024 and came into force in 2025.
In matching beige suits, Apiwat “Porsch” Apiwatsayree, who was in tears, and Sappanyoo “Arm” Panatkool, were handed their marriage certificates at a registry office in Bangkok on 23 January 2025.
The couple had previously exchanged vows in a dreamy ceremony which was held on 10 January 2025 and witnessed by family, friends and colleagues from the Thai entertainment industry including Both, Tong, Toosafe and Maengmum.
Porsch also shared one of their vows through a post on Instagram which read, “In happiness and sadness, I will be beside you to take care of, organize and love you until the day we become the most beautiful picture together. I promise.”

Following their wedding, the duo announced in a press conference that they would present to their fans the PorschArm: The Wedding, a reality series that documents the couple’s marriage. It will be Asia’s first-ever LGBTQIA+ wedding reality series.
