While quoting an exact figure in 2024 seems difficult, it goes without saying that Suho, who has been in the Korean entertainment industry since 2012, earns quite handsomely from his singing endeavours. However, Suho’s wealth extends beyond music. From being discovered on the streets by a casting member of the music label SM Entertainment to becoming a prominent face of Korean pop, EXO Suho’s journey is nothing short of an inspiration.

It was in 2006 that a 16-year-old Suho became a K-pop trainee under SM Entertainment. A year later, Suho began his acting journey with a cameo role in Super Junior’s film Attack on the Pin-Up Boys. As for his musical career, Suho was introduced as a member and leader of the K-pop boy band EXO on 15 February 2012. Their first extended play (EP) Mama, which was released in April 2012, sold over 294,486 on South Korea’s Gaon Album Chart. It also topped at #8 on the Billboard World Albums Chart.

It is interesting to note that Suho’s acting career went hand in hand with his musical career. In 2013, he voiced Bernard for the Korean dub of the animated movie, Saving Santa, while also recording the movie’s title track with Jung Eun-ji of South Korean girl group Apink.

Suho played the character Hans in SM Entertainment’s 2015 musical School OZ alongside popular idols like Seulgi, Changmin, Key and Luna. The same year, he was also cast in the KBS variety show Fluttering India, which eventually gave Suho a chance to explore Mumbai, India.

The K-sensation made his big screen debut with the 2016 indie film One Way Trip, which enjoyed a special premiere at the 20th Busan International Film Festival. Suho also ended up winning the Most Popular Actor nomination at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards for his role in the romantic comedy. A coming-of-age drama film by Choi Jung-yeol, One Way Trip grossed over 1.3 million at the global box office, according to Box Office Mojo.

Meanwhile, his role in the dramas How Are U Bread (2016) and The Universe’s Star (2017), received great critical and commercial acclaim.

Following this, the South Korean actor appeared in a slew of hit TV shows and movies. These include Female Middle Schooler A (2017) and Rich Man (2018). The latter is an adaptation of the Japanese drama Rich Man, Poor Woman and saw Suho playing an IT company founder. Suho also has to his credit an array of hit musicals, including the popular The Man Who Laughs. This 2018 musical earned the singer-actor a standing ovation from the audience.

Suho’s popularity continued to soar with his solo music debut in 2020. While his EP, Self-Portrait, topped the Gaon Album Chart at #1, its lead single “Let’s Love”, earned global appreciation. The album sold nearly 290,338 copies in South Korea. After a hiatus of two years, Suho made a terrific comeback with his second mini album Grey Suit on 4 April 2022. The album earned #2 on the worldwide iTunes album chart and peaked on the iTunes Top Albums chart in around 33 countries.

In October of the same year, the EXO idol collaborated with Thai actor-singer Mew Suppasit for his hit single “Turn Off The Alarm”. Suho also released the K-drama OST “Call me a Freak”, which he recorded for the TV series Bad Prosecutor, starring fellow EXO idol D.O.

Over the years, EXO member Suho has not only entertained his fans with great music but also incredible musicals, movies and TV shows. These include Mozart! (2023), Behind Your Touch (2023) and Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun (2023).

Suho plays a crown prince in the 2024 MBN original Missing Crown Prince. A Kim Jin-man directorial, the show is a spin-off of Bossam: Steal the Fate, the highest-rated K-drama in MBN history. The K-drama star is also gearing up for his debut solo Asia concert tour SU:HOME, which kicks off on 25 May 2024 in Seoul. Suho will visit a total of six cities across Asia as a part of his upcoming tour, including Manila, Hong Kong, Taipei, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

Suho is also set to release his third album in 2024, according to his label SM Entertainment.

Besides the acting projects, EXO leader Suho has been a part of multiple brand endorsements, which make a significant contribution to his net worth. These include popular brands like Bottega Veneta, Bulgari, Montes Wines, Anua Skincare BOSS and Diageo.

The Korean celebrity was appointed the brand ambassador for the luxury jewellery brand Bulgari in 2019, alongside the likes of BLACKPINK’s Lisa. Born on 22 May 1991 in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, Suho always wanted to be associated with the entertainment industry. After graduating from Gaepo High School, he went on to pursue a career in K-pop and eventually joined EXO.

Suho enlisted for his mandatory military services as a public service officer in May 2020 and was discharged on 13 February 2022.
