Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Penang's latest luxury boutique hotel 88 Armenian did quite literally rise from the ashes. Once upon a time, this Straits Eclectic style colonial building was burnt down, abandoned, and later refurbished as an art gallery. Now, 88 Armenian stands tall and grand at three storeys on Armenian Street, at the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Georgetown in Penang.
