We don’t have the upscale grocer here in the Big Mango but here are some places you can buy Erewhon-like smoothies in Bangkok.
Lisa recently joined the star-studded list of celebs who have their own Erewhon drink, which has made some of us hope, perhaps uselessly, that the LA-based grocery would open here in Bangkok. Maybe not even the whole grocery store but just their iconic Tonic Bar that serves all the drinks. Is it pricey? Definitely. Will we spend that kind of money just to taste Lisa’s Thai Up the World? You bet.
Sadly, that’s just wishful thinking. Fortunately, there are a number of places that are serving up Erewhon-like smoothies right here in Bangkok. Here are some of the places in Bangkok to buy Erewhon-like smoothies.

This brand evokes a minimalist and high-class vibe that makes it truly Erewhon-like, so it’s not that surprising to discover that their ve/la Blended series of drinks is the same. Much like the LA-based grocer and their concoctions, ve/la’s smoothies are a mesmerising swirl of colours and flavours. It also touts the health benefits each one gives. For example, the Blended Blueberry Haze helps gut health while the Blended PB&J, despite sounding like an indulgent treat, has anti-aging properties. In true Erewhon fashion, the prices are somewhat similar. The most expensive drink is priced at THB 325 and the cheapest smoothie is THB 155. Still cheaper than Erewhon but definitely still quite pricey.
This hip juice bar that has several branches all over Bangkok mainly serves cold-pressed juices that you can either buy there at its branch or have delivered to your home. It also serves several fruit smoothies but it recently introduced the Magic Powder series in collaboration with Oatbedient. The drinks are a colourful blend of things like blueberry, cacao, and strawberry infused with other healthy ingredients. The 12oz drinks are priced at THB 195.
Erewhon has an option for customers to customise their own drinks. Self Smoothies is pretty much all that. You choose from one of three bases: oat milk, yoghurt, or water. From there, you choose what they call your “solution”, which is basically the ingredients you want blended in, along with any toppings you might want in the smoothie. If you want to have some freedom with your smoothie and get a healthy boost, you should definitely check out Self Smoothies.
Vegetables is the name of the game at Paak, which makes total sense since its name is derived from the Thai word that means “vegetables”. They have a number of veggie-based smoothies, one of which is a smoothie version of a Caesar’s Salad. They’ve also got some that are fruit-based, but their most Erewhon-esque smoothies will have to be their blue spirulina series. The three drinks in the series all cost THB 230.
Plantiful’s menu is a vegan’s dream. It’s chock-full of delicious dishes, sweet treats, and juices. On top of that, their smoothies are also top-notch. Some lean more into the sweet treat territory like the Almond Butter Smoothie and the PB&J Protein Smoothie. Others contain healthy ingredients like spirulina andPlantogeinic Le Ruby like The Hulk (yes, that’s the name of the smoothie) and Glow Berry Bliss. The smoothies are priced starting at THB 185 and go all the way up to THB 240.
Oh Juice has a number of branches across Bangkok. Take a glance at what their drink choices are and it’s easy to see the Erewhon-ness of it all. Just take a smoothie it’s dubbed Ocean N Earth, a tantalising mix of cloudy blue and white with green at the bottom comprised of yoghurt, avocado, and collagen. But that’s not the only thing that makes it similar to Erewhon. They’ve recently released a smoothie customised by Thai actress Chompoo Araya aptly-named Chompoo Araya’s Material Girl Smoothie. Is this the start of celeb-customised smoothies for Oh Juice? We shall see.
Yoghurt, protein, and plant-based smoothies are what’s being dished out here at Woops. The smoothie bar assures customers that no ice or syrup is added to the drinks. Opt for the yoghurt smoothies if you want something straightforward and fruity. The plant-based smoothies are for those who may perhaps want something healthier or have dietary restrictions. The protein-based smoothies are there for a little boost. While none of their smoothies contain any sort of superfood like Erewhon does, they’re still very healthy and much more reasonably priced while still looking aesthetically pleasing.
