Saw Bangkok’s creamy egg rice dish on TikTok? Now you can eat it at Running Egg Singapore, which has opened in Ang Mo Kio to sell the dish. It was inspired by Hereduan in Bangkok.
The hawker stall, which opened recently in Ang Mo Kio, said its version is based on the original created by Bangkok restaurant Hereduan Street Food. Running Egg also brought in two Thai chefs from the restaurant.
According to Running Egg, every ingredient they use is imported from Thailand and its prices are more affordable than in Bangkok.

At Hereduan, the restaurant cooks the omelette with condensed milk and flavours it with either garlic, pepper, basil, or bird’s eye chilli. It is then topped with shrimp, beef, squid, or pork.
Running Egg Singapore offers similar flavours. They make each dish with four eggs and serve it with either prawn, chicken basil, pork jowl, luncheon meat, or grilled pork (moo ping).
Additionally, the Ang Mo Kio hawker stall said it adjusted the original recipes to suit local taste buds.

Prices here are cheaper than the original. Hereduan’s dishes start from THB200 (~S$7.90) for chicken and climb to THB340 (~S$13,40) for seafood. Running Egg’s offerings range between S$5.80 to S$7.80.
Running Egg Singapore is the latest among a suite of eateries specialising in eggs over rice. Danlao is a Hong Kong scrambled eggs specialist with outlets across the island, including Maxwell Food Centre, Changi Airport Terminal 3, and Vivocity. In December 2024, Japanese restaurant Royal Host opened its second location in Singapore to serve its popular omurice.
