What to do in Bangkok: 19-25 November 2024

Holly Graham of Tokyo Confidential guest shift at The Bamboo Bar

20 November, 7.30-11.30pm

How confidential is Tokyo? Let Holly Graham tell you all about it. No. 53 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 list, Tokyo Confidential was founded by Holly in autumn 2023, and quickly became one of the top spots to visit when in Tokyo. Before she opens up their sister bar in Hokkaido this December, Holly will be taking over the bar at The Bamboo Bar for one night only.

Chef Yoshitsugu Yamamoto of Alarde kitchen takeover at UNO MAS

21-22 November, 7pm onwards

Chef Yoshitsugu Yamamoto is a well-respected name in the culinary world for his take on Basque and Japanese cuisine. With a career in the kitchen for over two decades, he opened Alarde. The Basque restaurant has had a Michelin star for five years, and they’re not letting go of it soon. Chef Yoshitsugu will be taking over the kitchen at UNO MAS for a limited time, with a special east-meets-west menu, and optional wine pairing available.

Chef Cédric Burtin and Chef Ian Kittichai four-hands dinner at Khum Hom

21-23 November, 6.30pm onwards

Chef Cédric Burtin of the two Michelin-starred Restaurant Cédric Burtin joins hands with renowned celebrity chef and restauranteur Chef Ian Kittichai for a dinner experience that combines Thai ingredients with French culinary techniques. Highlights from the menu include seared duck goose liver with a creamy sabayon, seared river prawn with black garlic, and seared diver scallop in a light coconut-based dill sauce.

KEK Seafood kitchen pop-up at Jam Jam Eatery & Bar

21-23 November

KEK Seafood has been serving up sumptuous Singaporean flavours for three generations. Their chili crab brings all the customers to the yard, and their cereal river prawns have always been a must-order. They’ll be doing a three-day pop-up at ASAI Bangkok Chinatown’s Jam Jam Eatery & Bar with set menus perfect for sharing. Dinner is available only on 21-22 November, and both lunch and dinner on 23 November.

Star-studded dinner experiences at The Dome, lebua

21-23 November, 6-10pm

The stars are really aligned for this event, as four chefs and a total of nine Michelin stars come together to create a dinner experience that would be difficult to top. At Mezzaluna, Chef Ryuki Kawasaki will be joining hands with Chef Olivier Bellin of  L’Auberge des Glazicks. At Chef’s Table, Chef Vincent Thierry is working with Chef Kai Ho of Taïrroir, the first-ever Taiwanese restaurant with Three Michelin stars.

‘IHG One Night in Bangkok’ simultaneous parties at Bar.Yard, Rogues Bar, and CHAR Bangkok

21 November, 8pm onwards

Three bars under the IHG brand are throwing their own parties at the same time. If you want to stay a while, perfect, or if you want to bar-hop between them, you’re welcome to. The sky-high Bar.Yard is collaborating with party promoter Lights Out and bringing in live percussionists and dancers, Rogues Bar is having a guest shift by Chris Jang, owner and bartender of GU Seoul, and CHAR Bangkok is teasing a special pop-up and live DJs.

‘Savouring Terroir, From Bubbles to Bordeaux’ French wine pairing dinner at Scarlett Bangkok

21 November, 7pm onwards

Get into the weekend vibes early with a six-course menu carefully paired with a selection of French wines at Scarlett Bangkok. This wine selection is aimed to celebrate the different terroir throughout France, enjoyed against the glistening city skyline. Excerpts from the menu include hamachi with red aguachile paired with Henriot Brut Champagne NV, and foie gras served with rocket salad and a mustard seed sauce, paired with Chateau Bournuef, Pomerol 2018.

‘Brown Boys Cooking: A Banana Leaf Banquet’ Tapori x Aromkwan dinners

22-23 November, 5.30-7.30pm; 8-10pm

Indian dining destination Tapori is debuting the “BBC” series, short for “Brown Boys Cooking,” to display great flavours, lively vibes, and just a tiny bit of homoeroticism. Kicking things off is Chef Vishanu “Bank” Prempuk from Asian smokehouse Aromkwan, who will be bringing his signature style to combine with Chef Rohit Sharma of Tapori’s cooking, served sharing-style on a banana leaf. Highlights include the nine-hour Smoked Ox Tongue Rasam, Smoked Garlic Biryani, and 30-Hours Smoked Pork Knuckle.

Kentaro Wada of The Bar, Ritz-Carlton Tokyo, guest shift at Abar Rooftop

22-23 November, 7.30-11.30pm

The Bar at the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo is the embodiment of elegance, presenting a west-meets-east cocktail menu with a backdrop of the Tokyo skyline, along with the Japanese hospitality we love and adore. For one night only, Head Bartender Kentaro Wada will be presenting his cocktails at Abar Rooftop, where he will be shaking up a storm for guests to enjoy.

BEAMCUBE’s anniversary month with Y U QT, and Reilly & Guni

22 November, 9pm onwards

BEAMCUBE found itself in Sathorn last year, and they’ve just turned one year old. To celebrate their adventure of fun, as well as an incredible feat to welcome 236 artists in one year, they’re throwing parties throughout the whole month with different marquee events. One of which is Y U QT, and Reilly & Guni, who will definitely make the night one to remember. Tickets are priced at THB 400 online, and THB 800 at the door.

Murder mystery dinner at The Standard Grill

23 November, 7pm onwards

Get ready for four courses filled with thrills and chills. This dinner experience is to celebrate Oscar Wilson’s book The Curse of Blood, but when the author suddenly fell to the ground whilst having his meal, one of the people in the room was sure to be the killer. As accusations flood the room, unmask the true killer together at The Standard Grill. This time, be one of the meddling kids, and don’t let them get away with it.

‘One night in Tuscany’ communal dining event at Cento Bangkok

25 November, 8pm onwards

Cento Bangkok is bringing in the Tuscan spirit with a family-style menu shared across three large communal tables. They’re encouraging guests to bring their own Tuscan wine to be appreciated by others, with no corkage fee. Seats are limited, so book early.

‘before 2475 Restage’ theatre experience at RCB Rooftop, River City Bangkok

22-24 November, 7.30pm

‘before 2475 Restage’ tells the story of a group of friends in 2475 BC who later founded the People’s Party that led the Siamese Revolution in 1932. This play takes the viewers back in time and explore moments that shaped the face of modern Thai history, with the Chao Phraya river and Bangkok skyline as a backdrop. ‘before 2475 Restage’ offers English subtitles. Tickets start at THB 900.
