Women in Hospitality 2024 commences at the Banyan Tree Bangkok

Women in hospitality: they’re the people who take care of you as you walk through the door of establishments and put up with the ones who have had one drink too many. This time, it’s all about them. The Banyan Tree Bangkok is bringing in both local and international talents to demonstrate all the impressive things women do.

As you participate in the activities of Women in Hospitality 2024, 30% of the event’s revenue will be donated to the Halfway Home for Women Foundation.

8-Hand Women in Gastronomy Dinner

Chef Saki
Chef Som
Chef Renu
Chef Sasha

It’s a unique dinner opportunity for culinary enthusiasts aboard the Saffron Cruise, as the kitchen will be taken over by four women of the industry whose expertise in Thai cuisine and local ingredients will make your tastebuds dance with joy.

These women include Chef Saki Hoshino of Samlor and Nawa Central Thai Cuisine, Chef Som of Som’s Table, Chef Renu at Saffron, and Chef Sasha Phoomcharoen of Hybrid Restaurant.

Each woman has garnered fame and accolades from customers and within the industry, and it will be the first time we see all of them in one kitchen working on one cohesive tasting menu.

The dinner will take place on 7 March, 6.30-10pm.

Bar takeovers at Moon Bar

Throughout 1-8 March, the sky-high Moon Bar will be taken over by female guest bartenders, kicking things off with Shatbhi Basu on the 1 March (6-9pm), recognised as the first female of India with over four decades of mixology experience.

After Penfolds and DJ Kade on 2 March (6-10pm), Thailand’s Jameson Brand Ambassador Moa Chadcha will be standing behind the bar on 3 March (6-10pm). Phuket’s own Nahm Saowanee will be showing her skills behind the bar on 4 March (6-10pm), followed by Taiwanese mixologists Pei Liu and Green Liu on 5 March (6-10pm). The series will end with first-ever Filipina winner of the Diageo Bartender of the Year Award in 2023, Aly Lorenzo on 5 March (6-10pm), and Melody Lim of Baccarat Room and Bar on 6 March (6-10pm).
