The energetic and sometimes acrobatic dance moves of a koala mascot here in Thailand have delighted netizens across the globe.
The internet is a magical place. The most mundane of sayings (“Very demure, very mindful”) can launch a person into viral stardom and obscure Filipino music trends can become a global earworm (“Emergency, emergency”). So it isn’t odd when something like a dancing koala mascot from Thailand is making the internet rounds. The koala’s moves are something to behold and it’s not that surprising why people are enjoying its videos online.

There are a variety of videos of the dancing koala mascot going around already but the most popular one is the mascot dancing on a bridge. After pulling out some hyper dance moves, it then proceeds to precariously step onto the railing of the bridge and do some vigorous headbangs as the heavy techno music plays in the background. Another video shows the koala doing headstands—on a moving boat. Clearly, this koala was chugging Red Bulls instead of chewing eucalyptus.
For those of us here in Thailand, you may already recognise the koala’s “residence”. Chocolate Ville has long been a popular destination for those wanting an Instagrammable day out. The destination is very picturesque and also has a number of dining options. But now, we’re betting people will be coming in droves just to see their favourite koala mascot break it down.
If there are any naysayers out there doubting the virality of this delightful juiced-up marsupial, LA’s ABC 7 has picked it up and posted it on their socials.
The entrance fee for Chocolate Ville is THB 120 on regular days and THB 150 on peak days. The fee can be exchanged for drinking water, popcorn, or ice cream, or as a THB 100 discount for food. If you want to know when you can catch the dancing koala and his friends, you can check the show schedule below.
