Pride Month is here, and we cannot wait for corporations to come up with bare minimum rainbow-coloured products to capitalise on our sexuality. Here are some Bangkok Pride 2024 events to celebrate.
Pride has a lot of history. It was first created to commemorate the Stonewall Riots in 1969, when a series of protests were held by the gay community in response to a violent police raid at the Stonewall Inn. These riots were deemed as the catalyst for the gay rights movement across the world, and are remembered throughout the month of June for their importance. Now, we get to celebrate Pride Month 2024 in Bangkok because of those trailblazers.
While the celebration of Pride has evolved in its form, it is important to understand its history, as well as the fact that it is celebrated not just because we are who we are, but also because who we are should not be persecuted.
Seriousness aside, let’s get out and be gay for the month at these Pride events in Bangkok. Allies are welcome, of course.

To better understand each other, we communicate. These forums will take place in Lido Connect Hall 1 at Lido Connect, SCBX Next tech at Siam Paragon, and TrueSG Pro Hub at Siam Discovery.

Bangkok Pride Parade
1 June, 3-9pm
It can’t be a celebration of Pride without a parade. This time, it will be our first parade after the equal marriage bill will hopefully be fully passed. As we’re the first Southeast Asian nation to do so, it will surely be a bigger celebration than usual, expected to be joined by the LGBTQ+ community from other countries. The parade will start at the National Stadium, marching to CentralWorld.

Drag Me to Drinks, hosted by Oat Montien at The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon
15 June, 8pm onwards
The Parlor at The Standard Bangkok is promising a buck wild night with fun performances, hosted by one of the gayest people we know, Oat Montien. Oat is also holding a queer cowboy-themed art exhibition right now, so this feels like it’s not a coincidence. The dress code is Rodeo Queens, or whatever you need to challenge Jolene to a duel when he comes to take your man.
You can find more information at The Standard Bangkok, Mahanakhon.

Pride brunch with G-Spot Entertainment
June 29, 12-4pm
Brunch at The Standard Grill is about to get a whole lot gayer. LGBTQ+ party organiser G-Spot Entertainment is taking over brunch for one afternoon, presenting drag shows as you dine. The Gallery Shop x PANTONE pop-up store at River City Bangkok

Pride cocktails and grilled delights at Moxy Bangkok
1-30 June
It wouldn’t be pride without seeing rainbow-coloured syrup-y cocktails, so if you feel like having that, Moxy has got you covered. Plus, they’re inviting us to enjoy delicacies from the grill from Friday-Sunday throughout the month with their “Grill O’Clock & Beer On Me” promotion, because the gays are known to drink beer.
