Tinder’s new function allows you to play matchmaker for your friends

We all have that one friend who’s great, but becomes a lost cause when it comes to dating. Now you can help them with Tinder’s new feature, Tinder Matchmaker.

Tinder’s new function allows you to play matchmaker for your friends

According to research conducted by Tinder, more than 75% of the world’s single population consult their friends on the topic of dating more than once per month, and more than 50% of Thailand’s single people let their friends help if their matches are worth pursuing. Utilising these statistics, deciding their next feature to roll out was not a hard decision.

Presenting Tinder Matchmaker, a feature just released out for the wingpeople on the platform—the saints who help us bond with the other tables at the club.

How it works

Upon updating the app, you’ll get a new pop-up informing you of the new feature, prompting you to send a link to your friends. You can share the link to up to 15 friends per day.

As your friends tap on the link, they can sign in via their Tinder account, or they can also sign in as guest—the only information they need is their birthday. Then, they’ll have 24 hours to go through multiple profiles, swiping left or right for matches they deem suitable for you. These will appear as “recommended” on your profile.

Now it’s all in your hands. You can make the first move on the bachelors and bachelorettes your friends gave the “go” sign on, or you can also swipe left and see other recommendations that might suit you better.

If you’ve missed the pop-up, you can now find Tinder Matchmaker on the settings menu.
