Buddha & Pals 6th anniversary all-stars celebration

11 December, 7pm till late

Buddha & Pals has been an institute, a community space, a bar, a late night hangout spot, and more, for jazz lovers for six years. They’re not stopping anytime soon. Take five and celebrate with them at their anniversary party, complete with an all-star lineup of bands until late. Grab a drink, and let them show you what April in Paris feels like.

‘Terroir Extravaganza’ special dinner at Terroir

11-12 December, 6.30pm onwards

For a limited duration, the culinary team of Terroir is serving up dishes outside their comfort zone for a change before you taste their festive menu. Hidden Gem Food Festival at River Park, ICONSIAM

11-15 December, 4-10pm

To find a diamond in the rough, you need to dig a little deeper. Now streaming on Netflix, Hidden Gem showcases 12 different Thais from all over the country that represent gems of the Kingdom’s extremely diverse food industry. Southern Thai, Indochinese, street food done right, and more, all to be met at the Hidden Gem Food Festival. Meet the stars of the show, sample their dishes, and see why their recipes have been revered all over — some have been serving the same recipe for decades.

Benz Anupong of Blessing Shophouse guest shift at Ruay Mitr

13 December, 7-10pm

It’s a combo we never knew we needed. Ruay Mitr serves up rice congee with Thai-Chinese style dishes, and they do them well. Cocktail bar Blessing Shophouse features drinks with Chinese ingredients and warm hospitality. The two will be joining hands for one night only as Head Bartender Benz Anupong takes over the stations at Ruay Mitr for guests to pair their dishes with inventive cocktails.

Nono Yu of The Han-Jia Pairing Dinner guest shift at Aqua Bar

13 December, 8-11pm

Named “Bartender of the Year” by World Class Taiwan in 2022, Nono Yu is the owner of Tainan’s The Han-Jia Pairing Dinner where their great food is definitely a highlight, but the whisky-focused cocktails are never lacking. This year, The Han-Jia is sitting at No. 79 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024, and Nono will be in Bangkok to prove exactly why.

Lewis Tan guest DJ at SIN Rooftop Bar

13 December, 9-11pm

You may know Lewis Tan and his cheekbones from his appearances in Deadpool 2 (Shatterstar) and Mortal Kombat (Cole Young), but for this night only, he’ll appear as guest DJ at SIN Rooftop Bar. Spinning groovy fun deep house beats, it’s a chance to meet the Hollywood star and party with him in clear view at the DJ booth. The ticket already includes one drink, so don’t hesitate to order more after a bit of partying.

Bar Marco’s 4th birthday party with guest bartender Ong Thanachot

14 December, 6pm onwards (guest shift from 9pm)

Thonglor’s vinyl drinking spot Bar Marco is turning four this week, and they’re celebrating it big. Drinks are free-flow from 6-8pm, and Ong Thanachot from Find the Photo Booth will be taking over the bar from 9pm until late. Meanwhile, tap your feet and groove to the beats provided by DJs Norita and Bankzout, and don’t forget to stop by the photobooth outside.

Thailand Rice Fest 2024 at QSNCC

14-15 December, 10am-8pm

As one of the biggest rice importers in the world, Thailand has more varieties of rice than you may think. See for yourself and learn more directly from the suppliers as organisations and groups from all over Thailand come together in one place. Expect seminars on food and raw ingredients, food stalls with dishes made from good quality rice, souvenirs to take home, and charity events to help rice farms damaged by the flood in Chiang Rai.

‘Moonlight Garden’ food and music event at Slowcombo

14-22 December, 5-10pm

Samyan’s community space Slowcombo is being lit up for a limited time just before the holidays begin. Expect new eateries doing pop-ups: PUNN will be serving pasta dishes with natural ingredients and smoothies from organic farms in Chumphon, Peak’s Grill will be offering well-made hamburgers and sausages from the grill, and Uncle Bobs will be showcasing Chinatown’s gourmet burger provider. DJs and live bands will also be filling the air with music throughout the duration, so you know the vibes will be on point.

New lunch set menu at K by Vicky Cheng

Every Friday to Sunday, 11.30am-2.30pm

For those who want to try out Vicky Cheng’s new dining venture at Empire Tower, K by Vicky Cheng is now offering a lunch set that does not disappoint. It includes two appetisers, one main, and one dessert for THB 780++, with additional menus available at a cost. Highlights include Iberico pork char siu, Sichuan river prawn, egg-fried rice with dried scallops, and everything from their dim sum selection.

‘Untamed Melody’ art exhibition at MOCA BANGKOK

Until 26 January

Thai artist Thaiwijit Puengkasemsomboon’s forte is putting a message into the world with vibrant colours and figurines that seem unserious at first glance, provoking a sense of adventure and thirst for knowledge into guests that walk through his space. His new exhibition ‘Untamed Melody’ is all about the earth, and how much human behaviour is negatively impacting the nature around us. This exhibition is split into two parts, part one on display until 6 January, and part two on display until 26 January.
