‘Mamma Mia’ the musical will return to Hong Kong this July

My my, how can we resist this? Mamma Mia, here we go again. Popular West End musical Mamma Mia will make its return to Hong Kong after five years.

The last time that Mamma Mia was staged in Hong Kong was in 2019. The feel-good classic also took place at the Lyric Theatre. For fans who miss the show or missed the previous run, this is the chance to see it. Keep reading to find out more details.

‘Mamma Mia’ musical is making a comeback in Hong Kong after five years

Time to experience a musical extravaganza with the return of Mamma Mia! The global hit will also celebrate its 25th anniversary this year. So, it’s not a surprise that the team will hold 24 shows in Hong Kong.

Tickets come for HKD 1280 (A seating), HKD 1080 (B seating), HKD 980 (C seating), and HKD 680 (D seating) respectively. Bank of China credit card holders can purchase the tickets until March 25. Public sale will start on March 26 via cityline.com.

A night of singing, dancing, and fun

Based on the songs of the Swedish group ABBA, the musical was created by British musical producer, Judy Craymer. It takes place on an idyllic Greek island and tells the story of Sophie and her quest to find her father on the eve of her evening. To do so, she summons three men from her mother’s past back to the island. What culminates is an adventure filled with drama, dancing, surprises, and epic songs.

Get ready to watch powerful singing and dancing from the UK touring group. Take a trip down memory lane as you listen to popular songs such as ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘Super Trouper’, and ‘Money, Money, Money’.
