Yes, we are talking about YG Entertainment’s rapper Lisa and her impressive portfolio that boasts several world records, sold-out shows, record-breaking music videos, acting projects and brand deals. Known for breaking barriers for female artists and expanding K-pop’s global reach, Lalisa Manoban, aka Lisa of BLACKPINK is a popular Thai rapper, singer and dancer. With multiple Guinness World Records and achievements to her credit, Lisa has successfully created an impressive commercial influence worldwide. In October 2023, Lisa became one of the inductees of the Asian Hall of Fame, alongside the likes of Johnny Cash, Freddie Mercury and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a solo artist

Lisa’s music video for her solo single “LALISA”, which was released on YouTube on 10 September 2021, recorded over 73.6 million views in the first 24 hours. With this, Lisa surpassed the world record set by Ariana Grande with her track “thank u, next” which has garnered 55.4 million views after its release on 30 November 2018.

The “LALISA” music video has surpassed 722 million views as of 16 October 2024.

BLACKPINK Lisa achievements: First K-pop soloist to enter Spotify’s ‘Billion Club’

In 2023, Guinness World Records named Lisa the first K-pop solo artist to reach one billion streams on Spotify. She achieved this feat with her solo tracks “Money”, “LALISA” and “SG” from her 2021 album LALISA, which earned one billion plays on Spotify in 411 days. Not just that, after the release of the album, it became the first K-pop album to surpass one billion plays on Spotify. The album took a total of 565 days to surpass one billion streams on the music streaming platform.

In July 2024, she was surpassed by BLACKPINK member Jennie, whose track “One Of The Girls,” a collaboration with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, reached the milestone in 376 days.

According to Guinness World Records, Lisa is the first solo K-pop idol to win at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).

At the 2022 MTV VMAs, Lisa won Best K-pop for her track “LALISA”, surpassing BTS for the first time since the award’s introduction in 2019. The same year, she also became the first solo K-pop winner at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

Additionally, the rapper once again won the Best K-pop award at the 2024 VMAs for her solo track “Rockstar”. With this achievement, Lisa became the only K-pop idol to win the Best K-pop award twice at the VMAs.

On 24 March 2023, BLACKPINK’S Lisa, with 90,739,796 followers, became the most-followed K-pop artist on Instagram.

Her official handle @lalalalisa_m has over 104 million followers on the social media platform as of 16 October 2024.

Fastest K-pop idol to surpass one million followers on TikTok

BLACKPINK Lisa set a world record by gaining the fastest one million follower count on TikTok as a K-pop artist, surpassing the old record held by BTS’ Jungkook. Lisa launched her official account on TikTok on 6 June 2024 and within 2 hours and 18 minutes, she garnered one million subscribers. It took 3 hours and 31 minutes for Jungkook to reach this number. Lisa then reached 10 million TikTok subscribers in just 16 days.

Fastest K-pop performance video to reach 500 million views on YouTube

Lisa’s performance video for “Money”, which was released on YouTube on 20 September 2021, became the fastest K-pop performance video to reach 500 million views on the platform. The video achieved this feat in less than six months. Additionally, it surpassed one billion views on YouTube on 27 May 2024, making it Lisa’s first video as a soloist to reach the milestone.

The BLACKPINK member, who launched her YouTube channel Lilifilm Official in September 2021, is the most-subscribed K-Pop female soloist on the platform. She has over 11.7 million subscribers as of 16 October 2024.

Billboard achievements of Lisa ft. “Rockstar” and “New Woman”

According to Billboard, Lisa’s solo track, “Rockstar“, which was released on 28 June, is the highest-charting song of the year, as of 16 October 2024. It is also the highest-peaking release by any K-pop act on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, with the track securing the #4 spot on the former and #1 on the latter.

The song also landed at #70 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the Thai rapper’s highest solo career entry on the chart. It surpassed her previous peak of #84 with “LALISA” in 2021.

Additionally, her track “New Woman” featuring Rosalía debuted at #97 on Billboard Hot 100 and at #4 on Global Excl US Charts.

Lisa creates history at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show made a comeback after six long years, with Lisa of BLACKPINK opening the star-studded event on 15 October 2024, in New York.

Following this, Lisa created a new world record by becoming the first K-pop artist and Southeast Asian woman to headline the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The singer set the stage on fire with her latest solo tracks “Rockstar” and “Moonlit Floor”.
