Gone are the days where a man’s beauty routine consisted of just a splash of tap water on the face.
Skincare isn’t just a women’s thing anymore. There is an increasing amount of beauty products for men on the market, and an even greater shift towards genderless beauty products. Men get facials on a Sunday. Men wear moisturiser. Some of them even wear nail polish.
Whether you’re a man who loudly and proudly wears makeup, or you’re man who just wants to up his skincare game a little, here, we’ve put together some of the best face wash for men on the market. Some cult classics, others adventurous newbies, there’s a little something for every man and every face around here.

Jaxon Lane is one of those brands that makes skincare for men look really cool (they have a sheet mask called a ‘Bro Mask,’ for crying out loud). This Shake and Wake Enzyme Powder face wash is a lightweight, non-creamy cleanser, made with natural fruit enzymes. We particularly like the powder formula, which is designed to remove dirt and oil without leaving the skin feeling dry. Simply mix it with water and turn it into a foam. Pretty fun to do, too.
The key to glowing skin is exfoliation. L’Occitane Homme’s cleanser is made with cade essential oils, chestnut, and almond peel particles that are gentle enough to use every day. A great way to wave goodbye to dead skin cells, it leaves the face looking radiant and lively. Use in the mornings as a sweet mini spa treatment before you start your day.
Even though Hans de Fuko is better known for its hair and grooming products, its new face wash is definitely worthy of a try. The hypoallergenic formula is made using 12 natural plant extracts, and incorporates Mandarin orange to help fight against signs of ageing and sun damage. We’re particular fans of the bottle design, adding a refreshing pop of colour to the bathroom.
You can’t fault a cult favourite. If you want to go for the safest, most iconic option, go for this one. La Mer’s Cleansing Gel is made with a selection of their infamous ingredients to remove excess sebum for a gentle cleanse. The formula is oil-free, and with only a single pump of product required for use each time, will last you quite a while, too.
There’s physical exfoliants and then there’s chemical exfoliants. Peter Thomas Roth presents the latter. Within this cleanser, Glycolic Acid and Arginine work together to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores. There’s also Pro Vitamin B5 in this stuff, providing a healthy dose of hydration. Balance: it’s all about balance.
From lattes to face wash: charcoal is still very trendy. This Clinique for Men Charcoal Face Wash uses natural charcoal to draw out all that gunk that can clog your pores for a really deep clean. The soothing, non-drying foam leaves skin feeling fresh and relaxed, and acts as a great detoxifier.
Not so much a face wash, but a great tool to wash your face with, the Foreo LUNA Go for men is designed to enhance your skincare routine and even prep the skin pre-shave. We love the soft silicone touch points which use T-sonic pulsations to really get rid of all the dirt, oil, and dead skin cells on your face. You’ll find your skin feeling toned, clear, and energised. Simply pair with your favourite face wash or cleanser – you know where to find them.
