Walter White’s house from ‘Breaking Bad’ is being sold

Fancy a descent into criminality and chaos? Well, the perfect house for that is on the market. The house from Breaking Bad where Walter White lived is up for sale.

Let’s get one thing straight: making meth is bad. It’s a criminal offence. It’s something you definitely shouldn’t do no matter how desperate you become. Are we clear on that? Good.

But if you’re a fifty-year-old jaded chemistry teacher who suddenly got diagnosed with terminal cancer and you’re thinking of getting into the, uh, “ice business” with your former student, then the perfect house for you just went on the market. Walter White’s very own house in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as seen on Breaking Bad, has gone up for sale. That means you could potentially own and live in one of the most recognisable abodes from TV right up there with Monica and Rachel’s apartment, Seinfeld’s apartment, and… well, Leonard and Sheldon’s apartment.

Fans are most likely excited for the house to go on sale but one person who perhaps doesn’t share the same sentiment is its owner. Joanna Quintana grew up in the house. Her parents, who have sadly now passed away, bought the house in 1973, meaning that the family has owned it for 52 years. After all these years, Quintana finally decided to sell it because of the attention the house has gotten.

“We average 300 cars a day,” Quintana said in an interview with NBC affiliate KOB4, referring to the fans that come to visit the house. At one point, someone sent a package to the house addressed to Water White at 4:30 in the morning. They had to call the bomb squad. “My brothers said that’s it, we’re done, fence is going up.”

What made the situation more difficult was when Quintana’s parents became very sick. “Nobody knew that there were two people very sick, eventually on hospice, and eventually passed away.”

“We’re going to walk away with just our memories. It’s time to move on. We’re done. There’s no reason to fight anymore,” she explains, seemingly exasperated, which is understandable since fans reportedly have tried throwing pizza on the roof to replicate a scene on the show. It got so bad that the show’s creator, Vince Gilligan, had to call for a stop to it when he went on a podcast.

The 1,910-square-foot home is listed at USD 4 million though it’s estimated that it’s actually worth around USD 350,000. Quintana said, “I hope they make it what the fans want. They want a BnB, they want a museum, they want access to it. Go for it.”

You can view the listing on this website.
