Patravadi Mejudhon: What you need to know about the Thai actress in ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3

Here’s what you need to know about Patravadi Mejudhon who joins The White Lotus Season 3 cast.

The White Lotus has become known for gathering some of the most illustrious names in the entertainment industry. The cast of previous seasons included stars like Jennifer Coolidge, Sydney Sweeney, and Theo James. This season is no different with the likes of Jason Isaacs, Walton Goggins, and Parker Posey in the cast. Since this season is set right here in Thailand, the series also includes some notable local stars. One of them is Patravadhi Mejudhon, the legendary actress and playwright affectionately known as Khru Lek. Patravadhi Mejudhon joins The White Lotus Season 3 as Sritala, an owner of The White Lotus in Thailand.

Meet Patravadi Majudhon, the Thai actress in The White Lotus Season 3

Mejudhon has an exemplary list of works. Not just an actress, Khru Lek is also a playwright, director, producer, and teacher as her nickname reveals. Bangkok Post called her “a pioneering force in the world of performing arts, on stages or screens”.

Her love for theatre pushed her to pursue a career there despite the fact that it wasn’t too prestigious at the time. It led to her being cast in No Paradise For You. Her performance won her the Best Actress award at the Takkata Thong Awards in 1973. More recently in 2015, Khru Lek was named National Artist in Performing Arts.

Aside from her performances on screen and on stage, Khru Lek also set up the Patravadi Theatre. It eventually became Patravadi School which is located in Hua Hin at Vic Hua Hin, an arts complex that Khru Lek founded. Vic Hua Hin offers an array of classes as well as facilities for performances and seminars.

Khru Lek is set to appear in the third season of The White Lotus as Sritala. The character is said to be not just one of the owners of the Thailand location of the resort but she’s also the person behind the resort’s famed wellness program which Belinda (played by Natasha Rothwell) is excited to find out more about. Thai actor Dom Hetrakul plays one of the spa specialists.

The White Lotus Season 3 premieres on Max on February 17.
