A concertgoer’s survival guide to the Bruno Mars concert in Bangkok

Follow our tips and tricks for a great time at the Bruno Mars concert here in Bangkok this March 30th and 31st.

Prepare to put those pinky rings up to the moon because the Bruno Mars concert is just around a month away. Six years after his last visit, the American performer will once again rock and croon us with his hits this coming March 30th and 31st.

A month seems to be a lot of time but it’s just the right amount to make sure you get everything sorted for the night of the show. To help you prep, here’s a handy survival guide to ensure you won’t need to catch any grenades. That makes no sense whatsoever but we’ll stick with it.

Jam to the setlist

Want to make sure you’re familiar with all the songs? Jam out to the setlist on your way to Rajamangala Stadium or even a few days before the concert.

Check yo’ seats!

It’s going to be crowded and you might end up getting confused as to where you are, so prep ahead of time and make sure you know where your seats are. Consult the image above to know where you need to go.

Don’t forget the essentials

Make sure your tickets are with you, whether it be a physical or digital ticket, and ensure that you bring along your ID. Aside from that, you should probably wear a face mask since it’s an outdoor venue and Bangkok’s smog levels are atrocious. Baby wipes and an alcohol spray or gel might be handy too. And since this is a Bruno Mars concert, a change of clothes is probably a good idea because of all the dancing you’re going to do.

Don’t underestimate Bangkok traffic

Like we’ve said in our Coldplay and Ed Sheeran survival guides, the area of Rajamangala is notorious for horrible traffic, so it’s just going to be worse with a concert crowd. Taking your car is inadvisable. A motorbike might be better provided you own one, but public transpo is perhaps your best bet. You can take the Airport Link to Ramkamhaeng Station then make your way down where you’ll see motosais all ready and prepped for the concert crowd heading to Rajamangala.

This still means you’ll have to face the crowds and traffic after the concert though. You could opt to book a stay nearby: Kantary House Bangkok Hotel is a few kilometres away while Bangkok Interplace is just a few minutes’ walk away from the stadium.

Dress appropriately: Wear cool clothes and comfortable shoes

You’re going to an outdoor Bruno Mars concert. As stylish as a leather jacket is, you don’t want to pass out in the heat. Wear clothes that’ll keep you cool. In fact, why not take a page from Bruno’s own fashion book and opt for those breezy silk shirts? Comfortable shoes are a must too. It’ll be hard to rock and dance to “24K Magic” without them.

Take care of yourself

The heat has been ramping up in the past few weeks and the smog is going nowhere. Along with a mask, bring something that will keep you cool like a mini fan. And most importantly, don’t forget to stay hydrated! Security will ask that you get rid of any beverages before you go into the venue but there are vendors selling water once you go in. Make sure you get yourself a bottle or two.
