Located on the 76th floor of The Standard Bangkok, Ojo is a culinary masterpiece led by the visionary Chef Francisco “Paco” Ruano, who is on a mission with his partner in crime Chef Alonso Luna Zarate to transform Mexican cuisine, not just in Thailand but across Asia. With its lavish retro glam decor adorned in jewel tones, Ojo—meaning “eye” in Spanish—offers a dining experience that is just as breathtaking as the panoramic views of Bangkok.
Imagine indulging in vibrant, traditional Mexican flavours reimagined through a contemporary lens, all while surrounded in an atmosphere that radiates luxury and warmth. The restaurant’s stunning gold hues and organic gemstone accents create an ambience that feels like a crown jewel in the heart of the city.
But it’s not just the setting that lures visitors, it’s the menu that Chef Paco creates. Collaborating with Thailand’s top agriculturalists and fisheries, he brings dishes bursting with bold, innovative flavours crafted from sustainably sourced ingredients. Each dish is a celebration of his heritage that truly defies stereotypes of Mexican cuisine.
The bites we loved: Our favourite bites were the guacamole with corn tostadas and the zesty fresh tiger prawn Aguachile. As for the main, the Suckling Pig was the star of the show. The crispy exterior along with the succulent, very well seasoned meat, was absolutely divine.
