KWANN, which literally translates to ‘smoke’ in English, is a hidden gem nestled in a calm oasis. Here, diners are welcomed by the delightful aroma of Thai spices and the sight of talented chefs, where the ambience is the perfect balance between stylishness and laid-back charm. The restaurant serves contemporary Thai cuisine, brought to life by Michelin-starred Chef Napol ‘Joe’ Jantraget and Chef Jirapat ‘Sept’ Praphotjanaporn. Each reimaged classic is meticulously prepared using the finest Thai local products, laced with the tantalising flavours of smoking techniques.
Seamlessly merging sophistication and warmth, dining at KWANN is a magical experience. The venue has an open kitchen, inviting guests to witness the restaurant’s trailblazing techniques. And besides the creative bites, another aspect we loved was their impeccable service and knowledgeable staff.
The bites we loved: Offering both a la carte and a tasting menu of the Chef’s Choice, our favourite dish was the KWANN-style Roasted Duck. Served with Chinese pancakes and a luscious Hoisin sauce, the perfectly cooked duck was so succulent and flavourful, that you could tell how much thought was put into curating this dish.
Another lovely bite was Crab Beignets served with an exquisite Southern Curry sauce. Other delicious appetisers include the Grilled Beef Skewers that tastes like beef noodle soup and Nam Ngiaw, a Thai-style beef tartare using tomato jus instead of the usual pork blood. For their Off the Grill, check out the Whole Grilled Chicken Satay paired with a smooth and aromatic peanut sauce.
