From the aptly-named Phone and Ear, these are the Nothing releases in 2024.
For a brand that came into existence just three years ago, Nothing has witnessed a meteoric rise in its business and fame. Established as Carl Pei’s second business venture based out of London, Nothing emerged as a brand catering to a niche segment of enthusiasts and has been steadily expanding across various product segments over the years.
Its Phone (1) sparked excitement into a rather monotonous midrange smartphone segment and the Ear (1) spiced up the TWS earbuds category with a cool semi-transparent design. Later, the CMF by Nothing sub-brand helped it expand its foothold in the entry-level accessories space.
So what does Nothing have in store for 2024? Quite a lot, if our list of Nothing’s upcoming products releasing in 2024 is to be considered. Carl Pei’s brainchild will begin the year by introducing the affordable Nothing Phone (2a), the true successor to the original Phone (1). Joining this new smartphone on the stage will be CMF’s newest offerings in the entry-level audio category.
Throughout the year, we also expect Nothing to scale up with its mainstream smartphone and audio products, eventually rising to the ranks of Apple, its universally proclaimed competitor.
For Nothing fans, that brief must sound exciting. Hence, without further ado, let us explore the world of tech leaks and take a closer look at all of Nothing’s upcoming products releasing in 2024.

For Nothing, the Phone (2a) will be exactly what the Pixel 7a is to Google, which is an affordable midrange phone offering the core Nothing experience clubbed with essentials.
Ever since the Phone (2)’s launch, the Nothing Phone (1) was assigned to be a low-cost alternative for pulling in more customers to the Nothing ecosystem. However, the Phone (1) was ageing and in the competitive midrange segment, Nothing needed something fresh and up-to-date in terms of specifications. The Phone (2a) appears to be the Phone (1)’s true successor considering its strictly midrange specifications.
Recent leaks have revealed that the Phone (2a) will be based on the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 platform with the Nothing OS 2.5 experience situated at its core. It will likely feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a dual 50-megapixel rear camera setup, a 4,500mAh capacity battery and up to 256GB onboard storage. It may miss out on wireless charging but the leaked renders confirm a highly revised back panel with the Glyph interface lights.
In terms of pricing, the Phone (2a) is rumoured to cost as much as the Phone (1).

Releasing in: August 2024
While the Phone (2a) is crucial for Nothing to establish a firm hold in the midrange segment, the Phone (3) is now expected to raise Nothing’s status to the levels of Apple and Samsung. After the Phone (2)’s flagship-killer status, we now expect the Phone (3) to go full-flagship this year.
We speculate the Phone (3) to be released with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, an advanced 6.7-inch 120Hz LTPO OLED display, an upgraded rear camera system with a telephoto lens and a large 5,000mAh battery. Following the Phone (2a)’s radical design change, the Phone (3) could see a major redesign with a smartly integrated Glyph interface.
Since Nothing has already integrated ChatGPT with the latest version of Nothing OS, we expect the Phone (3) to launch with the next-gen Nothing OS 3 UI with generative AI forming a key part of the system’s core.
Keep in mind that these are just our expectations from the Nothing Phone (3) and there is a high possibility that Nothing could pull a surprise trick on us in the latter half of 2024.

Nothing is likely to entice audiophiles later this year with the Ear (3) TWS earbuds, which we speculate to be a mildly updated version of the Ear (2) earbuds from last year. That’s not a bad place to start considering that the Ear (2) was one of the nicest pair of wireless earbuds in the premium segment.
Other than improved audio drivers and an adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system, the Ear (3) TWS earbuds are expected to come with refined touch controls, new spatial audio support and improved battery life. We also expect generative AI to play a key role on the software side of things.

After a rather low-profile launch in late 2023, CMF by Nothing is starting its 2024 innings with the CMF Neckband to expand into the market of low-cost semi-wireless earbuds. The early teasers shared by the brand’s social media handles reveal an exciting new design featuring a rotary dial, which we assume could be used to adjust the audio volume.
While the rest of the features are under the wrap, you can expect CMF to throw in goodies like ANC and low latency mode for gaming.

Last year, we saw the CMF Buds Pro offered as a low-cost alternative to the Nothing Ear (2) earbuds, featuring ANC and 11 hours of battery life but lacking the semi-transparent design to lower costs. With the CMF Buds, it seems that Nothing will ditch the ANC to bring down the cost further and make it easy for more people to onboard the Nothing ecosystem.
As is the norm with CMF products, you can expect the Buds to come in orange, black and grey colours.

Following the CMF Buds, we also expect a low-cost CMF Watch to be released later in the year as an affordable alternative to the CMF Watch Pro. The vanilla model could lose out on Bluetooth calling and the built-in GPS tracking, reducing the price by a substantial margin.
However, the CMF Watch could still offer an attractive Apple Watch-clone design, a plethora of fitness-tracking features and all the basic smartwatch features like notification management, custom clockfaces and a lot more.
