Over the past week, citizens of Chiang Rai had been suffering the consequences of a flash flood. This has leds to villages being under water and landslides wrecking havoc in many northern provinces. Nan is reporting this flood to be the worst in 100 years, and organisations have banded together to help in any way they can.

Thai Red Cross Society

The Thai Red Cross Society is one of the easiest, most accessible organisations for donation. Money will go directly towards buying basic necessities for those affected. Friends in Need (of “PA”)

Friends in Need (of “PA”) is a volunteer foundation under the Thai Red Cross Foundation. Money will go towards basic needs for families affected by the flood. Save the Children Thailand

Save the Children Thailand is an organisation that focuses on improving livelihoods and well-being of children across Thailand. Money donated to this organisation will go towards the children and their families’ basic needs, as well as more long-term relief such as rebuilding homes and schools affected by water damage. Panadda Wongphudee️️

Actress and TV personality Boom – Panadda Wongphudee️️ is a huge philanthropist, and founded Thumdee Foundation to help others in need. She also travels to Chiang Rai herself to make sure the money goes straight to those affected by the flood. Monetary donations can be made to Kasikorn Bank, 713-2-59590-3. Items including but not limited to uncooked rice, pet food, trash bags, cleaning items, and mosquito repellant can be donated at 127 Rarm Intra 23 Alley, Anusawari, Bang Khen, Bangkok.

Raks Thai Foundation

Raks Thai Foundation is a non-profit organisation specialising in emergency response with over 35 years in operation. Monetary donations can be made through Kasikorn Bank, 799-2-50785-8 or scanning their QR code below. Basic necessities, cleaning supplies, diapers, and other items can be sent to 185 Soi Pradiphat, 6 Phaya Thai, Bangkok. You can find more information on their website.

Thai Airways

Thai Airways is liaising with local organisations in Chiang Rai for those who want to donate items, including but not limited to canned foods, drinking water, clothes, and medicine. Donations can be made 24/7, with items sent to Thai Airways International Headquarters, Security Centre, Building 4, 89 Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Chatuchak, Bangkok. They ask for items to be packed into boxes for easier transportation.
