Sri Lanka has announced visa-free entry for 35 countries, including Thailand

Planning where to go on your next trip? Sri Lanka makes the decision easy with visa-free access to Thais and citizens of 34 other nations.

Starting October 1, 2024, citizens of 35 countries, including Thailand, the United States, and the United Kingdom, can enjoy visa-free travel to Sri Lanka for up to six months. This move aims to boost tourism in the island nation, which has witnessed an uptick in tourist influx following the COVID-19 pandemic. The island is aiming for 2.3 million tourist arrivals by the end of this year.

Other countries gaining visa-free access to the coastal country include China, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Australia, Denmark, Poland, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, Russia, India, Japan, France, Canada, the Czech Republic, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Israel, Belarus, Iran, Sweden, South Korea, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and New Zealand.
