Thailand to launch digital landing cards for all visitors in May 2025

Thailand is set to launch a digital landing card for all foreign visitors in May. Here’s what you need to know about the TM6 form and how it can impact travel.

From May 2025, Thailand will mandate that all visitors holding foreign passports possess a digital landing card, referred to as the TM6 form. This requirement applies to those arriving or departing by air, land, or seaports. It includes visitors from visa-exempt countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam, although Thai passport holders are exempt.

The online submission, which replaces the currently suspended paper card, will be free of charge. The form will require visitors to provide personal and travel information related to the trip, including passport details and a Thai address as proof of stay.

Thailand’s digital landing card, which includes a departure card, is anticipated to assist in tracking tourists during their stay in the country. This initiative aims to enhance security services throughout Thailand, improve immigration processes, and stimulate growth in tourism activities.

Although the paper-based TM6 forms have been discontinued since 2022 to alleviate airport congestion and enhance tourism, the suspension period will conclude on April 30, 2025, for foreign travellers arriving in Thailand by air. This is paving the way for introducing the digital TM6 form, which is part of the Thai government’s broader aim of instilling confidence in its security services.

Thailand is one of the most popular countries to visit in Asia, having welcomed 35.5 million tourists in 2024. Additionally, the country aims to attract approximately 40 million travellers in 2025.
